From our inspiring Corps members to our dedicated staff, we believe in honoring our core values by working in service of children. Focusing on progress and continuous improvement, Jumpstart helps to increase knowledge and strengthen skill sets. We want our children to see that they too can have the world at their fingertips with the indispensable power of knowledge and skill.

How to help
Sign up to volunteer at Jumpstart For A Day! All we ask for is 3 hours of your time on April 11th from 9:00am-12:00pm. Email Ashley Dixon at ashley.s.dixon@howard.bison.edu.
We will be having an informational table in Blackburn on March 18th from 11:00am-2:00pm. We will also have an interest meeting on March 18th at 6:00pm in Room 142 in Blackburn.

What Can I Expect?
Jumpstart For A Day will provide a host of educational stations to provide children in the DC area with a day of fun and enrichment. Kids will learn the fundamentals of fire safety, nutrition and reading, to name a few.
An example of one of the education stations will be our Fire Safety station. With the help of the District of Columbia Fire Department, children will be able to explore the interior and exterior of an actual fire truck and interact with local fire fighters.
